Since June 2026, I have been heading the Chair of Financial Accounting at MLU. I began my academic career at the University of Bayreuth, where I studied Business Administration from 2011 to 2016 and obtained both my Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. During this time, I also spent a semester abroad at Universidad de los Andes in Santiago de Chile.
In June 2016, I moved to the University of Bamberg, where I worked as a research assistant at the Chair of International Financial Reporting and Auditing. I completed my PhD in February 2021 with a dissertation entitled “Essays on Cost and Earnings Management.” For my dissertation, I received the University Award of the University of Bamberg. I subsequently worked as a Postdoc at the Chair of International Accounting and Auditing at the University of Bamberg. In June 2023, I was awarded the venia legendi in Business Administration based on my habilitation thesis, “Current Issues in Auditing: Essays on Audit Pricing and Audit Quality.” In the same year, I was appointed Professor of Auditing at the University of Innsbruck before accepting the position at MLU.
In addition to my university activities, I teach Business Accounting at the International Real Estate Business School (IREBS). Since the 7th edition, I have also been a co-author of the leading textbook Wirtschaftsprüfung . I have furthermore completed research stays at Deakin University (Australia), the University of Auckland (New Zealand), Lund University (Sweden), and Aalto University (Finland).
